Fry English-style battered fish just like fish 'n chips shops! Just add water to this special mix, and make today's most popular batter-fried fish at home! Fries to a delicious crispy, golden brown.
USAGE
All You Need
1 cup Batter Mix
2/3 cup Water
1 1/2 lbs. Fish Fillets*
Vegetable Oil
POUR oil into deep fryer, large heavy skillet or saucepan, filling no more than 1/3 full. Heat oil to 375°F on medium heat.
STIR Batter Mix and water in medium bowl until smooth.
DIP fish, cut into serving-size pieces, into batter. Shake off excess. Carefully add fish, several pieces at a time, to hot oil.
FRY 3 to 5 minutes, turning once to brown evenly, until fish is golden brown and flakes easily with a fork. Drain on paper towels.
* Best with cod, flounder, tilapia, or trout.
To coat 3 lbs. fish fillets, use 1 box Batter Mix and 1 1/4 cups water.
Serve with McCormick® Tartar Sauce or Cocktail Sauce.
Lemon & Pepper Fish Fillets
1 cup Fish 'n Chips Batter Mix
2/3 cup Water
2 tsp. McCormick® Lemon & Pepper Seasoning Salt
1 lb. tilapia or cod fillets, cut into serving-size pieces
Vegetable Oil
STIR Batter Mix and water in medium bowl until smooth. Sprinkle fish with Lemon & Pepper Seasoning. Continue as directed above.
English Style Fish 'n Chips
STIR 1 cup Batter Mix and 2/3 cup water in medium bowl until smooth. Dip 1 lb. cod fillets, cut into serving-size pieces, into batter. Continue as directed above.
SERVE with malt vinegar and French fries or fried potato wedges.
USAGE
Sprinkle with McCormick Ground Black Pepper before dipping into batter.
