Cuban Sandwich

Use leftover Pernil (Roast Pork Shoulder) to make this popular pressed sandwich. If you do not have a panini maker, it’s just as easy to prepare the sandwich in a skillet.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cuban roll substitution Substitutions available
    • club roll or 6-inch piece of French bread, split
  • 1 tablespoon French's® Classic Yellow Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  • 2 slices Pernil (Roast Pork Shoulder), about 2 ounces
  • 2 slices deli ham, about 1 ounce
  • 1 slice Swiss cheese
  • 1 to 2 slices pickles
  • 2 teaspoons butter, softened

INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1 Preheat panini press while assembling panini. Spread mustard on bottom half of roll and mayonnaise on top half of roll. Layer roll with roast pork, ham, cheese and pickles. Butter bottom of sandwich and place on panini press. Butter top of sandwich. Close press
  • 2 Cook 3 to 4 minutes or until bread is golden brown with grill marks and cheese is melted. Serve warm
