A spicy twist to traditional burgers, these Tex-Mex burgers have the perfect level of heat that pairs beautifully with chunky guacamole! This recipe was developed for Stubb’s by Heather Hunsaker, of Kitchen Concoctions.

- 1 pound ground turkey or lean ground beef
- 1 jalapeno pepper, minced (seeds removed if desired)
- 1/2 small onion, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoon Stubb’s Chipotle Butter Injectable Marinade
- 2 teaspoon Stubb’s Beef Spice Rub
- 1/4 teaspoon each salt and black pepper
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup crushed tortilla chips or bread crumbs
- Guacamole (store bought or homemade)
- Lettuce
- Tomatoes, sliced
- Hamburger buns
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1 Prepare grill for medium-high heat.
- 2 In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, onions, garlic, sauces, seasonings, egg and crushed tortilla chips. Using hands, shape ground beef mixture into four equal hamburger patties.
- 3 Cook burgers on prepared grill for 4-5 minutes per side or until cooked through (160°F for beef, 165°F for turkey).
- 4 Serve on hamburger buns, topped as desired with guacamole, lettuce and tomato.
