Servings: 8 (1-ounce)
Ingredients
- 1 pound flank steak
- 1/3 cup pure maple syrup
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1 finely chopped chipotle pepper in adobo sauce
- 2 tablespoons French's® Classic Worcestershire Sauce
- 4 1/2 teaspoons McCormick® Grill Mates® Smoked Paprika & Onion Seasoning
- 1 teaspoon liquid smoke, (such as applewood flavored)
INSTRUCTIONS
-
1
Slice beef against the grain into 1/8- to 1/4-inch thick pieces and place in a bowl.
Tip: Partially freezing the steak will help make it easier to cut into strips—place the steak in the freezer for 30 to 45 minutes before slicing. - 2 In a separate bowl, combine the marinade ingredients: maple syrup, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, chipotle pepper, Smoked Paprika & Onion with Garlic & Pepper Seasoning and liquid smoke. Mix well.
- 3 Add marinade to bowl with meat, mixing to incorporate. Cover and place in refrigerator overnight or up to 24 hours.

To prepare using a DEHYDRATOR: Lay meat slices on the racks (do not overlap slices). Set the temperature to 165°F and dehydrate for 5 to 8 hours, until dehydrated and your desired texture is reached. Check for doneness after 4 hours.
To prepare using the OVEN: Lay the meat slices on a rack placed on top of a baking sheet (do not overlap slices). Set oven to 200°F and dehydrate for 3 to 8 hours, until dehydrated and your desired texture is reached. Crack oven door with a wooden spoon for better air circulation. Check for doneness after 3 hours. - 5 Remove jerky from the dehydrator or the oven. Allow the jerky to cool for 30 minutes and enjoy! Store leftover jerky in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
