French Toast with Spicy Maple Syrup

With its fluffy, custardy insides and crisp exterior, this French Toast recipe from our friends at IHOP is no joke. McCormick® Ground Cinnamon brings a classic warmth to the dish, while a drizzle of Spicy Maple Syrup provides the perfect kicked-up finish.

INGREDIENTS

Ingredients

  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons McCormick® Ground Cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 6 slices Texas toast
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons whipped butter, for serving
  • Spicy Maple Syrup, for serving

INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1 Beat eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon and salt in large shallow baking dish with wire whisk until well blended.
  • 2 Dip bread slices in egg mixture, turning to coat both sides evenly.
  • 3 Melt 2 tablespoons of the butter in large skillet on medium heat. Place 3 slices of soaked bread in skillet and cook until browned on both sides and heated through, about 6 minutes. Repeat with remaining 2 tablespoons butter and bread slices.
  • 4 Cut each piece of French toast in half diagonally. Layer 6 pieces on each serving plate. Top with 2 tablespoons each whipped butter and drizzle with Spicy Maple Syrup to serve.
