Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons ground flaxseed
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup finely chopped red bell pepper
- 1/2 cup shredded carrot
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 package McCormick® Salt Free Burger Business by Tabitha Brown Seasoning Mix
- 1 cup cooked quinoa
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 4 whole wheat buns, toasted
- Assorted toppings, such as lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes and sliced red onion
INSTRUCTIONS
- 1 Mix flaxseed meal and water in medium bowl until well blended. Let stand for 5 minutes.
- 2 Add bell pepper, carrot, panko and Seasoning to bowl with flaxseed mixture. Mix well. Gently stir in quinoa until well blended. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour.
- 3 Shape quinoa mixture into 4 patties, pressing firmly to maintain shape.
- 4 Heat oil in large nonstick skillet on medium-high heat. Place burger patties in skillet and smash using a large heavy spatula. Cook just until crispy on the outside and heated through, turning halfway through cooking. Serve on buns with desired condiments and toppings, such as lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes and sliced red onion.
