Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • 2 packages McCormick® Original Taco Seasoning Mix
  • 1 can (14 1/2 ounces) petite diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 package (8 ounces) uncooked spaghetti
  • 1 cup shredded Mexican cheese blend or shredded Cheddar cheese
  • Finely chopped fresh cilantro, optional

INSTRUCTIONS

  • 1 Brown ground beef and onions in large deep skillet or Dutch oven on medium-high heat. Add Seasoning Mix, tomatoes and water, stirring to mix well. Bring to boil.
  • 2 Add spaghetti to pan, stirring to cover with liquid. Cover. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until pasta is tender. Remove from heat. Sprinkle with cheese. Replace cover and let stand 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with cilantro to serve, if desired.

Test Kitchen Tip: Swap in other pasta shapes such as rotini, penne, or elbows. You may need to adjust cooking time slightly to ensure pasta is tender.
